Maxwell Cast (II)

The final portion of roof slab across the center zone of the station is being cast. Structure of the station has reached the concourse and upper platform levels at the south and north end respectively.

A minor realignment of the Neil Road intersection took place earlier this month for the final few d-wall panel construction. RC works presumably for the concourse slab is being done at the north wall.

The extensive Diaphragm wall and Barrett pile works, which have been ongoing for over 2 years, is entering its final quarter and will be completed by year end at the Maxwell station. Meanwhile, excavation works at Entrance A are progressing to the concourse level beneath the completed roof slab at the southern zone.

The diaphragm wall works continue at Maxwell station concurrent with the construction of the roof slab. A second traffic diversion for South Bridge Road will be prepared next month for the construction of the final d-wall panels beneath the existing road.

Works on the diaphragm wall continues at the Maxwell Station. Preparations for the first diversion of South Bridge Road & Neil Road is underway and should be implemented by month end.

D-walling works at Maxwell have been ongoing for 3 quarters as of now. The works have commenced at the demolished Maxwell FC carpark.

The carpark at Maxwell FC was closed last month and will only be reinstated at the end of the project. Meanwhile, the reconfigured carpark at Sago Lane had reopened in the 1st quarter. D-walling works continue at the station box.

D-walling works continue at the extremely congested Maxwell site. The Spring Street carpark is undergoing reconfiguration works and is scheduled to reopen by next month.

Spring Street Closes

Spring Street which serves as an in-going lane to Kreta Ayer Heights, will be temporarily closed from tomorrow onwards. As the road sits directly above the future Maxwell Station, the closure is necessary so that ERSS, excavation, casting works and movement of rigs and materials can be carried out swiftly with minimal disruption to the project.

The road will be reinstated towards the end of Q4 2018 when the station is expected to have been backfilled. During this interim, motorists will have to use Banda Street as a sole option of entering Kreta Ayer Heights. This is the second road closure under the T223 project following Dickenson Hill.

Maxwell - It's Beginning

The Maxwell station under T223 will have 3 levels. The formation level is proposed to be 31m beneath the surface of Neil Road. The station will have 3 entrances. Entrance A will be built infront of Kreta Ayer Heights; Entrance B will be at Maxwell Food Centre and Entrance C will be located at the Chinese temple.

Following the closure of Dickenson Hill, the bentonite silos have been erected and a treatment plant has been assembled. A hydrofraise trench cutter has been brought to the site. The site office is currently being built in the center of the site. Several traffic diversions for Neil Road has been planned and will be executed in phases.

Dickenson Hill Road Closes

Dickenson Hill Road, a small lane connecting Kreta Ayer Heights to South Bridge Road, will close from this Sunday, July 27 till project completion in December 2020. Situated at the center of the T223 site, this closure is necessary for the construction of the Maxwell station. Outgoing traffic shall be diverted to Sago Lane during the construction phase.

Hock Lian Seng has taken over possession of the site at Maxwell, with hoardings erected, crawler crane and silos arriving on the site. Due to the tight space constraints, the platforms will be stacked here.

Dickenson Hill Rd to close this Sunday

Contract Awards - T215, T216 & T223

Contracts T215, T216 and T223 were awarded today. T215 is for the construction of Mount Pleasant station and associated tunnels. This contract has gone to RSEA - Eng Lee - Wai Fong Construction Joint Venture.

T216 will see the construction of Stevens interchange station and associated tunnels. This station will allow commuters to transfer between the Downtown Line and Thomson Line. This contract has been awarded to Daewoo Engineering.

T223 is for the construction of Maxwell station only. This stacked station will be built by home-grown company, Hock Lian Seng (HLS). Previously, HLS has completed the Marina Bay Circle Line station and are currently finishing the Downtown Line Gali Batu Depot.

Maxwell station Pre-Construction

Here are some photos of the area where Maxwell station will be located currently. This sight is set to change once construction of the station commences. At present, advanced sewer diversion works are underway to facilitate the construction of Maxwell station, which will be one of four stacked stations along the Thomson Line route.
