Piling at Marina South

Piling works commenced at Marina South in the 2nd quarter of this year, the last of the 25 contracts to do so. Ground improvement works have commenced along the bored tunnel route to Marina Bay, extending the deep soil mixing activities across the entire 1.5km span of the T227 contract boundary from Marina Bay to Gardens by the Bay.

The team has commenced preparations for the diversion of Central Boulevard at the north end of the station.

Marina Bay D-walls (III)

D-walling works continue at the Marina Bay site alongside further ground improvements. The launch shaft at the north end of the station has commenced excavation.

Napier Diverts

The first traffic diversion at the Napier site was implemented earlier this morning. One of the major TD along the Thomson Line project, the westbound carriageway has swung away from Gleneagles and now runs alongside the launch shaft.

Maxwell D-walls (III)

D-walling works at Maxwell have been ongoing for 3 quarters as of now. The works have commenced at the demolished Maxwell FC carpark.

Outram Park D-walls (II)

The Pedestrian Overhead Bridge along Outram Road was successfully demolished on May 24 and most recently July 12 along the CTE bound and Cantonment bound carriageway respectively. This is the 4th POB to be demolished along Thomson Line project. In addition to preparations works for the upcoming numerous road diversions for the construction of the interchange linkway is the relocation of the ERP gantry along Eu Tong Sen Street.

Majority of the shops within Pearls Centre have started to vacate following the management's decision to cease all tenure lease by the end of this quarter. Demolishment of the complex can be expected by the first half of next year. D-walling and piling works continue around the site area.

Piling at Havelock (III)

Piling works continue at the Havelock station. Acoustic barriers are coming up in front of the Tan Boon Liat building and piling has started at Holiday Inn. The access to Jalan Bt Ho Swee has also been diverted.

Diaphragm wall works continue at the Orchard Boulevard station following the first traffic diversion. The Paterson-bound carriageway will be diverted this week.

Napier - Preparations to Divert (II)

Preparation works continue for the traffic diversion works at Napier. The diversion works are taking a significant amount of time to prepare due to the complexity in the geological and utility network at the site. The curbs of the new road are now being constructed, along with the demolishment of the center median. The diversion is expected to be implemented by the end of this month.

Herrenknecht has completed assembly of the STP back in Q2. Excavation of the launch shaft is now halfway completed we can expect tunnelling to commence around year end. The gantry crane was assembled at the end of May and the delivery of the TBM should take place by Q3.

Stevens D-walls

Piling has commenced at the SCGS site for the rectangular TBM launch shaft. Hoardings have gone up beneath both flyovers for ground improvement works and the construction of the escalator shaft. Back at the station site, D-walling works are on going. The diaphragm wall panels of the Dalvey Launch Shaft have been completed and excavation works had just commenced on the dual circular-cell shaft.

Piling at Mount Pleasant (III)

Piling works have intensified across the Mount Pleasant station site, with additional piling rigs brought to the site increasing the total count of 9. 5 mobile cranes are supporting the bored pile process in addition to the 2 crawler cranes.

Over the past quarter, the south launch shaft had successfully been excavated down 5 levels and had just been completed by the T215 team. The launch shaft is now anticipating a handover process to the T216 project which will facilitate the tunnel works to Stevens.

The north launch shaft had just commenced excavation and should be ready by year end.

Caldecott Excavation

Across Toa Payoh West, piling works have completed along the south end of the Thomson Cripple Siding (TCS) and excavation works have commenced. Excavation continues along the north end of the TCS in conjunction with a section of the adjacent station box and entrance which have just commenced excavation in Q2 and is now at S2. Piling works are still on going along Toa Payoh Rise for Entrances C&D.

Upper Thomson D-walls

D-walling works continue at the Upper Thomson site. Piling works have completed at the Upper Thomson Launch Shaft (ULS) by the end of May and shoring/excavation works have commenced. Tunnelling works are scheduled to commence at the ULS by December this year.

S-893 Assembles

The first Herrenknecht slurry mix-shield TBM for the T206 project has commenced assembly works within the LS2, with the cutterhead lowered down earlier today. The TBM will commence an initial drive on the Changi Bound tunnel between the LS2 and the crossover tunnel at Woodlands Station. Upon docking, the internal TBM components will be retrieved and relaunched for a second drive on the RT3 tunnel between LS1 and Woodlands.

This is the second TBM to be assembled for the Thomson Line, and is expected to be commissioned by August.

Piling at Bright Hill (III)

Piling works continue in full swing at the north and south cut and cover tunnels, in addition to the continual drain diversion works at the Bright Hill Station. Penta Ocean has begun preparatory works for the reconstruction of the Pedestrian Overhead Bridge at Ang Mo Kio Avenue 3. The new bridge is expected to be up by the end of the year, prior to the TBM launching. The T211 team is also conducting ground improvement works near Thomson View condo for the south tunnel drives to Upper Thomson.
