Orchard Boulevard - Preparations to Divert

D-walling works continue at the Orchard Boulevard station. A minor road diversion for Grange Road is being prepared and will be implemented in about 2 weeks time. The diversion is necessary for the construction of the Diaphragm wall beneath part of the existing road.

North of the station, a road diversion has taken place in front of the Hotel Jen (former Traders Hotel) by the unrelated PUB Stamford Diversion Canal Phase II project. This is another infrastructural project taking place concurrent with the construction of the Thomson Line, with the second interface at Great World.

Orchard Boulevard D-walls

The Orchard Boulevard station has commenced D-walling works. Hoardings have also gone up around the newly completed site office - which shares a common ground with the site itself resulting in an extremely small site area, offering little parking space and only allows for a one-way flow of traffic.

Barriers have been placed around the center median near Traders Hotel where preparatory works progresses for the subsequent felling and road diversion to construct Entrance B.

Orchard Boulevard Clears

Contract T218 is for the construction of Orchard Boulevard station. The main contractor KTC has taken possession of the site about 2 months back. The site of the station was previously home to EtonHouse International Pre-School's Orchard Boulevard campus, which has been relocated to Thomson Lane. Site clearing has begun at the station.

There will be 2 entrances for this station. The main entrance will be topped off above the station upon structural completion. The second entrance will be located along Grange Road, near the Traders Hotel, requiring a subway link from the station box. The span of the subway will be built by mining, to eliminate any possible disturbance and diversions to the busy traffic intersection. For the construction of this Entrance B, the existing POB will be demolished. The new bridge will be integrated with entrance B, providing barrier-free accessibility on both sides of the road.
